Real-time monitoring of ships and objects with VHF
The system enables the continuous tracking and monitoring of vessels and moving objects within a specific area using VHF technology. The vmsTRACK-PRO-CS operates with CSTDMA Class B transmission capabilities. CSTDMA stands for “Carrier Sense Time Division Multiple Access,” which is used for Class B AIS units. The vmsTRACK-PRO-CS operates according to the “listen before talk” principle. When a transmission is due, the transceiver monitors the dedicated slot. If no transmission from a Class A transceiver is taking place in that slot, the CSTDMA unit initiates the transmission itself in that slot.
Palm-sized for every need
The vmsTRACK-PRO-CS is a small, portable “Grab ‘n’ Go” position transmitter that transmits at a predefined time interval via VHF radio frequencies. The unit is ideal for coastal fishing fleets, monitoring the movement of harbor vessels, small target tracking, and recreational boating. It is suitable for fishermen, ships, recreational boats, jet skis, harbor boats, pilot vessels, etc. The system is expandable to a complete target management system. The vmsTRACK-PRO-CS real-time tracking system enables a radar traffic monitoring system for commercial use. The transmission provides information about the current GPS position, as well as the course and speed of the object, enabling real-time tracking and monitoring of objects for a base station. Such a base station requires only a specially tuned receiving unit to receive these position reports. The creation of a “closed user group” is possible with such a system, where, thanks to adapted frequencies, only the base station has access. The vmsTRACK-PRO-CS can also be operated with regular AIS frequencies, eliminating the need for a specially tuned receiver.
“Geo-fence” possible
Specific areas can be programmed into the device (do not enter or do not leave). These are called “geo-fence areas.” The vmsTRACK-PRO-CS unit issues a visual alert by flashing its LED when this geo-fence function is triggered, and a special information message is immediately sent to the base station. Only the base station can interpret this message.
Intelligent theft protection and tamper protection
If the device is stolen or tampered with, a smart, high-tech solution triggers a flashing LED to alert the ship’s captain. A special message is also sent to the base station. This special message is sent within the normal position report, but only the base station can decode it.
“Who is Where” as a means of coastal security and fleet management
Constantly knowing “who is where?” is particularly useful for managing coastal fisheries, as well as for securing one’s own coastline. The transmission of this special identifier enables flawless identification as “friend or foe.”
Additional alarm function
The small vmsTRACK features an additional alarm button. When the alarm is triggered, an official emergency message is transmitted on both regular AIS frequencies, in addition to the regular position report on a special frequency according to the customer’s specifications and with the approval of the national authority, to reach every AIS receiver within the vmsTRACK’s transmission range.

Power supply
Different power supply solutions possible
There are 3 options for powering the vmsTRACK-PRO-CS.
- Charging station Remain independent with your own batteries, which are charged with your own charging station ( A122 Tamperproof & Powersocket )
- A fixed on-board power supply solution is provided by connecting to a 9-32VDC on-board power supply. This enables continuous intelligent charging (special modification of the charging station is available upon request).
- Solar panel: Permanent external power supply with intelligent recharging. This will be a fully self-contained solution for continuous operation.
Individually adapted
Customization of vmsTRACK devices
The vmsTRACK devices are individually programmable, allowing the transmission of the vessel name, vessel type, and area of activity in addition to the unique unit ID. The vmsTRACK’s transmission interval can be freely defined, from 1 second to 1x per hour (if necessary). The longer the time interval, the longer the transmitter’s battery life. In operating mode of, for example, 1x per minute, continuous use over several days is no problem. A solar panel can be used for power supply without an on-board power supply, as is often the case with small coastal fishing vessels.
